Houston City Council Agenda – September 22, 2020
The city will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, 2020, and will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams at 1:30 PM. Public comment will be allowed Tuesday, September 22, 2020 by teleconference. The agenda includes items related to funding for emergency lime tank cleaning and repair, design and construction of new trails along Buffalo Bayou that were damaged by Hurricane Harvey, water meter replacement for Houston Public Works, funding for Lake Houston redevelopment, several expansions of Municipal Utility Districts, awarding the contract for the installation of new energy optimization tools and other improvements at the East Water Purification Plant, among other topics.
- Agenda Item 5 is a recommendation for the Emergency Purchase of Lime Tank Cleaning and Repair for Houston Public Works, at a cost of $93,593.
- Agenda Item 12 is an ordinance appropriating $596,522.00 for a contract between the City of Houston and Aecom Technical Services, INC for the design and construction of Tiger Trail 4 along Buffalo Bayou, which was damaged by Hurricane Harvey, for the Houston Parks and Recreation Department.
- Agenda Item 14 is an ordinance appropriating $7,318,863 as additional appropriation for the purchase of Water Meters and Water Meter Replacement Parts for Houston Public Works.
- Agenda Item 16 is an ordinance relating to the Fiscal Affairs of the Lake Houston Redevelopment Authority. The ordinance seeks to approve the Fiscal Year 2021 Operating budget.
- Agenda Item 20 is consenting to the addition of 8.5 acres of land to West Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 5.
- Agenda Item 21 is consenting to the creation of Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 572, containing approximately 55 acres of land within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston, Texas.
- Agenda Item 22 is consenting to the addition of 6 acres of land to Dowdell Public Utility District.
- Agenda Item 23 is consenting to the addition of 5.6 acres of land to Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No.133.
- Agenda Item 26 is an ordinance appropriating $23,687,090.90 out of the Water & Sewer Consolidated Construction Fund to make several improvements at East Water Purification Plant. The contract is to be awarded to Industrial TX Corp.
