Houston City Council Agenda – April 24, 2018
This city considered the following agenda items at the April 24, 2018, Houston Council Meeting. The agenda items include an amendment to have citizens pay to replace garbage/recycling carts, appropriations for the Houston Public Works Northeast Quadrant Building, and the rights to haul waste in the city of Houston.
13: An amendment to Ordinance to Section 39-62 of the Code of Ordinances would require citizens to pay a fee to replace their garbage and/or recycling carts if it occurs more than once every 10 years. It would relieve the city of the cost for the carts and encourage citizens to take better care of city property.
22:Â Over $73,000 from the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund will be appropriated to Rey De La Reza Architects, Inc to remove and replace three (3), antiquated 20,000-gallon underground fuel storage tanks at the Houston Public Works (HPW) Northeast Quadrant Buidling. This step was not an original part of the project.
23: Over $1.9 million from the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund will be appropriated to Morganti Texas, Inc for the removal and replacement of the tanks, construction of a new fuel island, and other accessories for a complete system at the HPW Northeast Quadrant Building.
The following two companies, (30) Fleet Clean, Inc. and (31) LRG Power Washing, LLC, are given the right to collect, haul, and transport solid and industrial waste from commercial properties within the city of Houston.
