Houston City Council Agenda – March 20, 2018

This city considered the following agenda items at the March 20, 2018, Houston Council Meeting. The agenda items include a project with the U.S. EPA, regulatory drinking water sample collection, an agreement with the Texas Water Development Board, and various contracts to haul waste within city limits.

31: The Houston Health Department (HHD) wants to collaborate with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for HHD’s Bureau of Pollution Control and Prevention (BPCP) on a Community Scale Air Toxic project. The goal of the project is to identify toxic sources posing the highest risk and evaluate the impact of reducing emissions.

49: Strike Water Services, LLC will be awarded over $1.3 million to conduct regulatory drinking water sample collection and field analysis. They will measure and report the total and free chlorine, monochloramine, and free ammonia content, along with routine microbial sample collection.

53: A financing agreement will be made with the Texas Water Development Board for a loan interest loan to design and construct the Northeast Water Purification Plant Expansion and water lines.

54: Over $337,000 is to be awarded to Carollo Engineers, Inc for waste water treatment plants improvements at the Almeda Sims location.

55: Over $2 million from the Water and Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund will be awarded to Lopez Utilities Contractor, LLC for wastewater collection system repairs.

60-67: The following entities are given the right to collect, haul, and transport solid and industrial waste from commercial properties within the city of Houston.
