Houston City Council Agenda – December 5, 2017
This city will consider the following agenda items at the December 5, 2017, Houston Council Meeting. The agenda items include payments to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for water quality monitoring and appropriating additional funds for new development in water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage projects.
3 – Payment totaling over $1.7 million for the Consolidated Water Quality (CWQ) fee for the City’s wastewater treatment plants to the TCEQ. It funds comprehensive monitoring of water quality for each river basin as part of the Texas Clean Rivers Program.
4 – Payment totaling over $2.3 million to TCEQ for Water System Fees, or regulatory activities as required under the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. This includes chemical sample collection, system inspections, plan reviews, and other technical assistance.
26 – $3 million from the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund and $1 million from the Street & Traffic Control and Storm Drainage DDSRF are to be appropriated for new development in water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage projects.
31 – Royal Services Company, LLC was granted the right to collect and transport solid and industrial waste from commercial properties within the city of Houston.
