Be a part of #GivingTuesday and #BigGiveHouston. Double your donations!

Today, November 28, is a significant day for caring Houstonians. Why? Because today is #GivingTuesday AND Big Give Houston! It’s a day when you can make a big impact on Citizens’ Environmental Coalition and on our environmental community.

For over 45 years, the CEC has worked to improve our region’s air, water, and lands by educating the public about critical environmental issues, and building coalitions to address those issues.

Starting at 8 am EST (7 am Houston time) on Tuesday, 11/28/17, Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are matching up to $2 million of funds raised on Facebook for U.S. nonprofits. Facebook is also waiving its fees for donations made to nonprofits on Facebook this #GivingTuesday. Make the most of this matching opportunity by leveraging the power of Facebook’s charitable giving tools. Please look for the most up-to-date fundraiser on Facebook so we can maximize the match. Donations will come directly to CEC with no processing fee.

If you don’t have a Facebook account, you can also pay securely with a credit card, through PayPal Giving Fund, and on Network for Good (which makes it easy to set up recurring donations). As always, you may send a check (payable to Citizens’ Environmental Coalition) to PO Box 702, Houston, TX 77001.

Your support is critical to CEC’s ability to connect our environmental community. We do this through publications including the CEC newsletter, the Environmental Resource Guide, and a website featuring a comprehensive environmental calendar and green job listing.

We also connect our community through events, including the Greater Houston Environmental Summit, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Tour, and the “Stump the Treehugger” environmental trivia contest. For the first time in over a decade, CEC is organizing the region’s premier Earth Day event, set for April 22, 2018. We need you help to amplify the work of the environmental community in the Greater Houston region!

Your donation to the CEC, in any amount, helps make our important work possible.

With your support, we can continue making our environmental community stronger, and ultimately protecting and improving our environment.

Sincerely,

Rachel Powers
