CEC welcomes Sarah Leach
The CEC is pleased to introduce Sarah Leach, who recently joined our team as our membership coordinator, participating this semester through the University of Houston Downtown’s service learning program. In addition to working with new member organizations, Sarah is learning about–and helping with–a broad range of nonprofit activities.
Having worked as a paralegal for many years, Sarah responded to an insistence within to work with and on behalf of our elderly population. She cares deeply about diversity and justice and has a desire to contribute professionally toward the goal that all individuals will not only be receive equitable health care services, but that they live in an environment which contributes to their well being and not to their health care needs. A lifelong learner, she will graduate in May with a B.S. in Health & Behavioral Science with an emphasis on aging and wellness.
Sarah travels the city primarily by bus, train, and bicycle and tries to encourage others to at least try to do the same, not only to experience the reduction of stress one enjoys when not being behind the wheel, but additionally to contribute in some small way to the reduction of air emissions.
In addition to serving as our Membership Coordinator, Sarah will be participating in our Earth Day Environmental Trivia Event on April 30, 2017.  She would like to continue as a volunteer once her workstudy program comes to an end and continue growing with the C.E.C. and Houston’s environmental community.
