Houston City Council Agenda – October 26, 2016
The city will consider the following agenda items at the October 26, 2016, Houston City Council Meeting.
- 17 – Ordinance amending Article XII of Chapter 47 of the Code of Ordinances relating to storm water discharge. The proposed changes are necessary to comply with new EPA mandated requirements, including: clarifying what non-stormwater discharges are allowed to enter the storm sewer system and requiring small construction sites to perform best management practices to prevent unauthorized stormwater discharges.
- 43 – Ordinance appropriating $1.9 million out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund for the installation of a Main Canal Radial Gate Bypass supplying raw water to the City of Houston and operated by the Coastal Water Authority. The gate structure controls the flow of water downstream to the Lynchburg Reservoir and maintains adequate water surface levels for agricultural and industrial customers. The gate is in need of repairs to extend its useful life. The project is located in Dayton, TX and is expected to last 270 calendar days.
