2014 CEC Environmental Summit

Please join the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition the afternoon of Thursday, February 13, 2014, at the United Way Community Resource Center at 50 Waugh Drive in Houston.
Each year, the greater Houston environmental community gathers to discuss topical environmental issues facing our region. For each of the issues, attendees are asked to envision collaborative actions for the coming year that will support environmental improvement. Your input is a critical part of this process!

Luke Metzger, Executive Director of Environment Texas, will provide a keynote address that highlights Houston’s environmental opportunities from a statewide perspective. Breakout sessions will feature speakers and discussion on the topics of energy and the local carbon credit market, water quality and bayou greenways, Galveston Bay oysters and environmental flows, important environmental issues in the eyes of the press, long ranges transportation opportunities, and more. The summit will conclude with a live birds of prey presentation by Mary Anne Weber of Houston Audubon, a recap of issues and actions identified in the sessions, and catering by Pat Greer’s kitchen (vegan, vegetarian, and local deliciousness). Tickets start at $20 for members.  Learn more and register on EventBrite or call Rachel at 713-524-4232.
