Description: The October meeting of the LOWER TRINITY VALLEY BIRD CLUB will be held on, Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at The FLNB Corner (1822 Sam Houston Av, Liberty, TX) across for the First Liberty National Bank. Directions: from Hwy. 90, turn north on Travis St. (between Kentucky Fried Chicken and Whataburger), cross over the railroad tracks- The FLNB Corner is at the intersection of Sam Houston Av. and Travis St. Be sure to come early at 9:30 a.m. for our “Birder’s Chat” time. Our speakers and guests will be Mark Waters and Mike Knight from the Trinity River Authority with a presentation over Lake Livingston and the lower Trinity River concerning a variety of topics including water quality, recreation, and general reservoir operations.

Mark Waters has been employed by TRA since 1989 and is currently the Manager of the Lake Livingston Project after holding positions including Field Inspector, Area Administrator and Assistant Project Manager. Mark obtained a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

Mike Knight is the Water Quality Supervisor at Lake Livingston. Mike has been with the Trinity River Authority (TRA) since 1974 and held the positions of Water Quality Tech, Biologist and Water Quality Supervisor. He holds both an “A” Water and “A” Wastewater License and is Technical Director of NELAP, a stringent nationally recognized lab accreditation program. Mike obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas in Austin.
