Description: TxDOT to host public scoping meetings on
I-45/North Freeway expansion – October 9 and 11, 2012

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will hold two more public meetings on proposed improvements to the North Freeway corridor covering 16 miles from the I-45 interchange with US 59/SH 288 north to Beltway 8. The proposed project could impact several historic neighborhoods, including the Near Northside National Register District, Woodland Heights Historic District and the pending Germantown Historic District.

TxDOT will present information about the revised alternatives for the I-45 expansion and explain how community feedback from earlier meetings has been incorporated into the preliminary plans. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide written comments on the proposed alternatives during and after the meetings.

Two identical public meetings will be held in an open house format that will allow attendees to come and go at their convenience. Residents and business owners in the affected neighborhoods are encouraged to attend either meeting anytime between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
