Description: Saturday, Sept. 8, Join Lan Shen for a Tour of Whistlestop Prairie, a Pocket Prairie in Hermann Park: We will meet at the gate to the parking lot at 3:40 p.m., immediately after the Wildscape Workshop ends on Saturday, September 8. We will walk pass the zoo, pass Miller Theater to the entrance of the Japanese Garden. Whistlestop Prairie is next to that entrance. We will see the many prairie plants and insects at this restoration of “Houston’s Heartland”, which was first planted in April, 2010. Get a feeling of the prairie in the city!
