Transition Houston September Meeting and Potluck

Title: Transition Houston September Meeting and Potluck
Location: Green Building Resource Center, 1002 Washington Avenue
Link out: Click here
Description: Transition Houston meets in several venues for our monthly meetings. This month we will be meeting at the Green Building Resource Center/Code Enforcement Building, 1002 Washington Ave. (near the Amtrak station), in the upstairs conference room. The Green Building Resource Center is a fantastic place to learn about green building technologies, with lots of visual and hands-on displays of materials and systems ranging from the simple but effective to the advanced and highly efficient.

Steve Stelzer, the Dir
ector of the Green Building Resource Center (GBRC) has offered to lead a tour of the rooftop solar and wind turbines installed at the Code Enforcement Building. Please be on time at 7pm to join the tour!

We will then join together for food, community, and conversation. As is our tradition, we celebrate the Labor Day holiday and our own Transition Houston successes with a Transition community potluck. Three years ago this Labor Day we found out that Transition Houston had been approved as an official Transiton Initiative (#40 in the US). This potluck we will celebrate our many activities during the year.

Please bring a dish to share (labeled with ingredients, if you wouldn’t mind), your own plate, utensils and cup–if you can, and yourself (and friends or family) for a great time!

And if you can’t bring something, please come anyway!

There is bicycle parking at the Green Building Resource Center. Also car parking.
