Description: The September meeting of the LOWER TRINITY VALLEY BIRD CLUB will be held on, Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at The FLNB Corner (1822 Sam Houston Av, Liberty, TX) across from the First Liberty National Bank. Directions: from Hwy. 90, turn north on Travis St. (between Kentucky Fried Chicken and Whataburger), cross over the railroad tracks- The FLNB Corner is at the intersection of Sam Houston Av. and Travis St. Be sure to come early at 9:30 a.m. for our “Birder’s Chat” time. Our speakers and guests will be David and Jan Hanson; the presentation will be Birds of South East Arizona and Hawks of Texas.

David and Jan both grew up in Baytown Texas and attended Robert E Lee High School where we met and graduated in 1970. We both later attended Stephen F Austin University where David studied Wildlife Biology and Forestry and Jan Studied Business Administration. David worked for ExxonMobil for 26 years before retiring in 2008 and Jan works for her brother in his medical practice. We started birding about 4 years ago and since Jan was already into photography it just naturally fit right in taking bird pictures. David soon became hooked as well and now they have his and her cameras and lenses.

Guests and visitors are always welcome. If you have a backyard bird feeder or have an interest in birds and nature, the Lower Trinity Valley Bird Club is a great opportunity to learn more about birds, meet fascinating people, and take part in birding/nature activities
