Citrus trees bear fruit abundantly for many years. They can be purchased at the Urban Harvest Fruit Tree Sale in January and planted in mid-March after the last possible freeze. They are evergreens and have fragrant flowers., attract North America’s largest butterfly are are a good bird habitat. Explore the types of citrus available, how to grow them, and where seeds and saplings can be obtained. Continuing Professional Education (CEP) credit is available.
Instructor
Dr. Bob Randall taught anthropology in universities for 16 years while studying and resaerching ecological anthropology. He is one of eight Urban Harvest Cofounders and served as its Executive Director until retirement in 2008. He is the author of Year Round Vegetables, Fruits, and Flowers for Metro-Houston, 12th edition, 12th edition. He is active as a member of the Permaculture Guild of Houston and coordinates and teaches many of the Urban Harvest courses.
