LEED ND – Sustainable Communities Implemented!

Come hear from key stakeholders in the region on how they are scaling up sustainability and learn about the LEED rating system for Neighborhood Development.

Featured Projects:

Mueller
One of Central Texas´ most ambitious new urbanist communities located in the hear of Austin is also the first LEED ND project in Texas. The 700 acre site of Austin´s former airport is being transformed into a diverse, sustainable, compatible, revitalizing and fiscally responsible master-planned community.

Springwoods Village
A transformational mixed-use planned community in Northwest Harris County, Texas, anchored by the Exxon campus and the Grand Parkway, is rooted in preserving and protecting its natural forest and ecosystems while creating a diverse, walkable, connected and energy efficient community.

Washington Avenue Livable Centers Study
The study seeks to transform one of Houston´s fastest growing urban corridors into a walkable, mixed-use place that provides mulit-modal transportation, improve environmental quality and promotes economic development.

Project showcases will be followed by a panel discussion and an exclusive opportunity to have your site plans reviewed by two LEED ND experts!

Sophie Lambert, Director of the Neighborhood Development program at the U.S. Green Building Council and Jason Hercules, Manager of the Neighborhood Development Pilot program at the U.S. Green Building Council will spend 15 minutes with 8 different projects to offer comments and advice on site plans.

At least 4 GBCI CE credits are expected to be approved.
