Gain essential knowledge of sustainable building concepts fundamental to all LEED rating systems. Learn LEED intents and concepts at the credit category level and basics of the LEED certification process. This course provides a foundation for pursuing the LEED Green Associate exam.
Learning Objectives
– Identify the key components of the LEED Rating System.
– Discuss the basic LEED Certification process.
– Describe the intents and associated concepts of each LEED credit category.
– Explain regulations, recognitions and incentives related to each credit category.
– Recognize successful LEED strategies and measurements for achieving creditcategory goals.
LEED Faculty: Chip Henderson
Chip graduated from the University of Texas School of Architecture in Austin and then attended the Solar Engineering program at Trinity University in San Antonio during the 1970’s. Chip Henderson and his wife, Debra are founding partners of Contects – Consultants & Architects, a design-build firm in which their expertise in woodworking, building science and site ecology are combined to create enduring regional architecture. Since 2005, Chip has devoted more time developing his company’s role as a HERS Provider working with the EPA Energy Star program and a USGBC, LEED for Homes Provider, currently facilitating over 150 projects seeking LEED certification.
