We’re excited to bring back Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. with former Mayor Bill White, who appeared together at the premiere of The Progressive Forum in June of 2005, launching our unique speaker series. Robert Kennedy is a resolute defender of the environment and an insightful social and political commentator. He was named one of Time magazine’s “Heroes for the Planet†for his success in helping Riverkeeper, New York’s clean water advocate, lead the fight to restore the Hudson River. The group’s success helped spawn more than 160 Waterkeeper organizations around the world. In 2009, Kennedy was named one of Rolling Stone’s “100 Agents of Change.†Kennedy is a professor of environmental law at Pace University School of Law. He serves as senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council. Among his published books are The New York Times bestseller, Crimes Against Nature (2004), and The Riverkeepers (1997). His articles have appeared in The New York Times, the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and Rolling Stone, to name a few. His articles have been included in anthologies of America’s best crime writing, best political writing, and best science writing. He will sign books and greet fans at the end of the evening.
