In the last fiscal year, the city closed seven community centers and eight swimming pools, pulled funding from three health centers, reduced library hours and still had to lay off 747 employees. A shortfall is projected for the coming year and the city has not yet set aside $5 billion in future pension costs. Where will we get the money? More cuts? More fees? Raise taxes? These will be the hard choices we have to make.
