Description: Please join us for a meeting to discuss the Houston Galveston Regional Plan for Sustainable Development, an unprecedented effort to develop a Regional Plan for the area that includes Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Harris, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, Waller and Wharton Counties.
A consortium of community partners received a $3.75 million Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant to develop the Regional Plan. The final plan will be a great resource for all communities involved to learn what has worked for other people in various community planning and sustainability efforts in the areas of clean air and water, good jobs, safe and attractive neighborhoods, affordable housing, transportation choices and open spaces and parks.
At the meeting you will have an opportunity to give your feedback on what you think are the most pressing issues facing your community and the region overall and share your hopes for what a better tomorrow may look like.
The ideas shared at the meeting will be combined with ideas from citizens of the 13-county Houston-Galveston area and will help to set goals and priorities for the plan and create a vision for the region.
Livable Houston Initiative meetings have been hosted by Houston Tomorrow for the last thirteen years, on the fourth Wednesday of every month. The Houston-Galveston Area Council generously provides the meeting space.
