Description: The March meeting of the LOWER TRINITY VALLEY BIRD CLUB will be held on, Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the meeting room of the First Liberty National Bank located at 1900 Sam Houston in Liberty. From Hwy. 90 turn on Travis Street, between Kentucky Fried Chicken and Whataburger, cross over the railroad tracks and take a right into the bank parking lot. Be sure to come early at 9:30 a.m. for the “Birder’s Chat” time. If you have any questions call President Gary Holmes at 281-576-0574 or e-mail him at geholmes@verizon.net.

The speaker for March will be Lisa Reznicek the presentation will be: “The Dark Side of Birding: Perceptions on Birding Impacts.”

Lisa Jeane Reznicek grew up in Galveston County and went to the University of Houston for a MFA in Sculpture, and a BS in Anthropology. After completing her degrees, she traveled the U.S. with Americorps programs and
environmental education positions. In 2006, Lisa moved back to Galveston Island and focused on integrating environmental education and art through non-profit service to the greater Houston area. Ms. Reznicek went back to school to get her Masters in Marine Resource Management from Texas A&M University at Galveston (hopeful graduation in May 2012). She is completing her thesis on birdwatching impacts with a focus on parks and recreational management. Currently, Lisa is working on gaining a position in the National Park Service, or other community-based environmental work.
