Description: The Heritage Society invites you to the next installment of the Building Arts Distinguished Lecture Series. This lecture is titled “Galveston Historical Foundation’s Green Revival House” and will be given by Matthew Pelz. After Hurican Ike destroyed its foundation, Galveston Historical Foundation’s 1891 Green Revival House was moved 17 blocks to a new lot and restored. The house is the first historic home renovation in the country to earn LEED Platinum certification and was recently awarded a Nation Preservation Honor Award. The project is a shining example of how to successfully pair historic preservation with sustainable design and green technology.
