Description: The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will conduct a meeting to accept comments from the public on eight draft Total Maximum Daily Loads. The meeting, which will be held on Thursday, Sep. 29, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at the Dickinson City Council Chambers, City Hall Complex, Highway 3 and FM 517, Dickinson, Texas, 77539, will give the public a chance to provide oral and written comments on bacterial pollution limits proposed by the TCEQ and on ways to address bacteria impairments in Dickinson Bayou and three of its tidal tributaries in Galveston and Brazoria counties.

To meet requirements of the federal Clean Water Act, the TCEQ developed draft TMDLs for bacteria for five segments of Dickinson Bayou and has made them available for public comment. Once the public comment period is completed on Oct. 17, 2011, the TCEQ will seek to adopt the TMDLs and will then submit them to the EPA for approval.
