Description: LEED mandates, incentives and new tools for assessing the value of high-performance green buildings
…The LEED program began as a completely voluntary system whereby developers and owners sought LEED certifications for a variety of reasons, such as energy savings, better leasing or the desire to do something good. While market forces have certainly created a demand for greener buildings, the government also began to encourage and, in some cases, require green construction. This presentation will discuss the growth in LEED incentives and mandates at various government levels in the United States. Furthermore, it will discuss if this push to LEED will translate into higher building value from an appraisal standpoint. Ms. Fox will discuss the appraisal process and various challenges and tools that appraisers have when examining green buildings.
As always, this event is free and open to the public.
