Do you know how bees and such help create our food? Pollinators make the world go round, they come in all shapes, sizes and colors, and fertilize many of the fruits, vegetables and
legumes that we eat.
Join us for Pollinator Weekend at the Houston Zoo June 25th and 26th from 10am – 4PM
Join the Houston Zoo in celebrating National Polinator Week on June 25th and 26th. We will have information and activity tables in a special area, and themed Meet the Keeper Talks throughout the Zoo, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. each day all about our favorite pollinators.
POLLINATORS SPOTLIGHT ON SPECIES SCHEDULE
We’ll have oodles of information, which you can get by visiting one of our tables, stationed between Natural Encounters and the Reptile House, each hosted by leaders in the pollinator world:

Houston Museum of Natural Science, Entomology Department: Learn all about creepy-crawlies from the experts!
Texas Master Naturalists: All you ever wanted to know about native plants and wildlife gardening from Houston area experts!
Katy Prairie Conservancy: Learn all about prairie conservation and restoration, and about what wild Texas used to be like…

Attracting Native Bees to Your Garden: Have you ever wanted to start a wildlife conservation project in your back yard? Helping our native bees couldn’t be more fun and easy – visit our table for tips on gardening for bees… we will have handouts and a few examples of bee houses that are cheap and fun to build, a great family activity!
