Description: Jean Fefer: What to Plant and Do Now

Jean Fefer, Ph.D., is a Harris County Master Gardener, an Urban Harvest Organic Vegetable Specialist and a Master Gardener Plant Propagation Specialist. She will explain what to plant and do now in our home vegetable gardens. In addition to being so knowledgeable about growing vegetables in our area, Jean is definitely qualified to speak on this topic because she and her husband, Mort, grow vegetables for the Turning Point kitchen. She’s continually having first hand experience. She’s spoken many times, teaches classes at Urban Harvest, and has colorful slides to illustrate her points.

Although it may be difficult to imagine what to plant in July heat, it is definitely time to begin planning our fall vegetable garden. Experienced gardeners are poring over seed catalogs and getting their orders ready this month for fall crops. Jean will talk about this, too.
