Description: he hot topic on everybody´s mind today is the status of water and conservation in Central Texas. According to the National Drought Mitigation Center, Texas has just finished its driest seven-month period on record with over 97% of the state facing at least a moderate drought; the Edwards Aquifer region is at stage 2 water restrictions.

Yudelson will discuss tactics on preventing a water crisis in Central Texas, as well as highlight and analyze the effects of current efforts. The lecture will also feature an interactive discussion about water resources, supply and water quality in our region with a panel of local experts including: Karl Dreher, General Manager, Edwards Aquifer Authority; Karen Guz, Director of Water Conservation, San Antonio Water System; Suzanne Scott, General Manager, San Antonio River Authority; and Dr. Carey King, Research Associate, Jackson School of Geoscience, UT Austin.
