Description: This class is located outdoors in the Westbury Community Garden. You will have an opportunity to see first hand in the garden what and how to plant some of the fall and winter vegetables. Learn what varieties to plant and when, soil prep, fertilization, seed planting, transplanting and trellising. The vegetables included are lettuce, endive, radicchio, cress, kale, chard, cabbage, collards, bok choy, mustard, mizuna, arugula, kohlrabi, carrot, beet, rutabaga, potato, turnip, parsnip, radish, celeriac, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, snow pea, onion, multiplying onion, leek, garlic, garlic chives, cilantro/coriander, sorrel, fennel, parsely, rosemary, sage, thyme, pea shoots and mint. If there is rain predicted, bring a raincoat or umbrella; we will have a large sheltered area for teaching. There will be one instructor for every 15 students
