Description: Do you know who pollinates the flowers in the Big Thicket? Join a park ranger on a fun hike on the Sundew Trail on Saturday, April 23, to explore the world of pollinators and their plant partners. Special activities designed for kids will help them learn more about the special roles played by bees, hummingbirds, butterflies, and other animal pollinators. The Sundew Trail makes a 1-mile loop beneath towering longleaf pine trees and through a small pitcher plant bog, and is a great place to see birds and wildflowers in the spring and summer months. April 23 is National Junior Ranger Day, so all kids who participate in this program will earn a Junior Ranger badge, certificate, and a special patch.
