Description: Mary Ann Beauchemin, Senior Naturalist at the Nature Discovery Center, will lead a walk through Russ Pitman Park to describe the work that has been done by volunteers and scouts in the park over the last few years. She will walk through the new model habitats that are being created as part of a comprehensive plan that is being developed for the park. These habitats will increase the biodiversity of native plants and animals, making the park a more useful and diverse outdoor classroom for classes and camps, and a better wildlife watching site for visitors.

Mary Ann is the Senior Naturalist, Teacher Workshop Coordinator and coordinates the park development projects. She has worked at the Center since 1988 and initiated the Nature Detectives pre-school program. She enjoys bird watching, gardening for birds & butterflies and learning something new every day! Mary Ann has a MS degree in Environmental Education from Southern Oregon University and worked as a naturalist at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, the Austin Nature Center, the Sunriver Nature Center (Oregon) and the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.
