It’s also time to elect CTC’s 2011-2013 board members, and anyone with a 2011 membership may vote. If you have not yet joined CTC for 2011, there’s still time.

Just one year ago, Houston Mayor Annise Parker appointed new leaders to Houston METRO. George Greanias, new METRO president and CEO, will provide our keynote talk, sharing his experience leading the transformation of a sometimes embattled agency. George will also update us on METRO’s urban light rail expansion and the availability of federal transit funds.

Greanias will be joined by Christof Spieler, an engineer and long-time transit advocate who was named to METRO’s board in March 2010. Prior to joining METRO, Christof served four years on CTC’s board, and he will contrast his experience advocating for high-quality transit from outside and inside the agency.
