Description: Several teacher workshops are held each summer for any teachers interested in conservation and natural resource issues. The workshops are help in various parts of the state in cooperation with the TSSWCB. Teachers are able to get their required continuing education units (CEU), while experiencing nature and the outdoors. This year’s workshop is scheduled for June 7-9, 2011

This conservation workshop is held at the Franklin Family Ranch in Blanco, Texas. Topics covered will be soils, the water cycle, plants in the Texas Hill Country, prescribed burning, wildlife habitat, energy conservation and more. Registration fee includes lodging, meals and workshop materials. Teachers of all grade levels will benefit from the valuable information in this workshop.

Cost: $200 – Scholarships may be available through your local Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD). Click here to find and contact your local SWCD

CEU’s: Program approved by the State Board of Education Certificate Registration #500210, 16 hours of professional continuing education units.
