Description: New volunteers are needed to help with nature education and conservation activities at local Audubon nature sanctuaries. An overview of the activities will be offered at a volunteer orientation session. Volunteer opportunities include:
– restoring habitat at Houston Audubon sanctuaries
– assisting visitors at the High Island spring migration kiosk
– help with nature education programs
– maintaining sanctuary trails, grounds, and gardens
– staffing festival booths
– doing office tasks
– working on galas and other special events
Volunteers can select the activities that best fit their interests, skills and schedule, with time commitments as little as 2 hours per month. The orientation program is free but registration is required; for information or registration, visit www.houstonaudubon.org or call 713-932-1639.
