Community Notes – 2010-09-02

  1. TCEQ Brownfields Assistance. The TCEQ Brownfields Program provides assistance in identifying environmental risks when your community is redeveloping and revitalizing properties. TCEQ Brownfields can perform assessments on brownfields properties at no cost for eligible entities. TCEQ is currently looking for brownfields sites that need environmental assessment before they can be redeveloped. TCEQ’s Brownfields program can provide environmental assessments for governmental agencies, non-profit entities, redevelopment agencies, or quasi-governmental entities to help benefit your community. More on the TCEQ website.
  2. Air Quality Forecast. http://www.ghasp.org/air-quality-aqi/ or http://www.tceq.state.tx.us/compliance/monitoring/air/monops/forecast_today.html
  • September 3: Green–Good. Moderate winds and low background levels should help to keep air quality in the “Good” range.
  • September 4: Green–Good. Heavy cloud cover over much of the state, along with moderate winds and low background levels should help to keep air quality in the “Good” range statewide.
  • September 5: Yellow–Moderate–Ozone. Increasing background levels and decreasing winds should help ozone to reach “Moderate” or possibly higher levels on the southwest and west side of the Houston area.
