Description: Backcountry First AidThis course will teach participants to provide first aid for common outdoor injuries and accidents, and will be divided between lectures and hands-on practice of the content through short, practical scenarios. Topics covered will include:

Accidental injuries:Fractures, dislocations, sprains, strains & splinting
Environmental injuries: Snake bites, stings, dehydration, sunburn, hypothermia, hyperthermia, and submerison injuries

Course instructors, Doctors Jane Corboy and John Rogers are certified in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine and Advanced Wilderness Life Support. They have extensive experience in mountaineering, whitewater rafting, and backpacking.
