Description: Billowing clouds of blackbirds, bronzed landscapes, musical meadowlarks, delightful ducks, and grand, leafless vistas make the prairie an ideal day trip in February. Come join us for our second Prairie Discovery Tour of the new decade and we’ll show you the sights that will entice you to return to this Flat Out Wonderful land. Prairie Discovery Tours pair small groups with expert guides to help reveal the mysteries and secrets of nature. We will take you out to the crawfish pond, explore the ins and outs of rice farming, and learn about some of the feathered friends seen buzzing over the prairie in February.

KPC’s Nelson Farms Preserve: a working rice farm with a diverse array of habitations ranging from wetlands to upland forest that is home to hundreds of varieties of wildlife and plant life.
