Keep up-to-date with the current science and human rights issues involving air pollution by attending our 3rd Annual State of the Air Address. We promise you a program of education, inspiration and motivation.

We are proud to have as keynote speaker Eduardo (Jay) Olaguer, PhD, Director of Air Quality Research at the Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC). Dr. Olaguer will present his talk, ” Preliminary Results from the Study of Houston Atmospheric Radical Precursers (SHARP) and Their Implications for Texas SIPs.”

We have an additional feature to the program this year with invited speaker, Monique Harden, JD, co-director and attorney for Advocates for Environmental Human Rights, who will present her talk entitled, “ Getting the Devil Out of the Details: What’s Needed to Protect Our Human Right to a Healthy Environment.”

This year’s Clear Horizon Award will be presented to Larry Soward, former Commissioner for Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) who served from 2003 to August 2009 and is regarded as the most proactive defender of Texas natural resources.

Luke Jones, host of Eco Beat on KPFT FM 90.1 and executive director of Youth Radio, will be honored with the Young Environmentalist Award.
