Description: On January 23rd, 2010 the Houston Area Urban Forestry Council will be sponsoring, in partnership with Harris County Flood Control District, AgriLife Extension and the Texas Urban Forestry Council, a Regional Tree Planting Competition. We will have two categories of competition, “Professional” and “Volunteer”. Trees will be provided by HCFCD but the teams must bring their own shovels, gloves, etc. and there is no charge to participate. The top three times from our regional competition in each category will be submitted to the State with the top times throughout the State winning the statewide competition.
