Description: Learn the various sexual and asexual ways to start plants from seeds, cuttings, divisions, and layering. Topics include the proper storage of seeds, seed dormancy, and methods of sprouting hard-to-sprout seeds. There will also be a hands-on workshop on propagation by cuttings. You will learn methods of making the cuttings and preparing them for sticking. You will also learn about various growth media and the importance of controlling temperature and humidity. Bring a pair of small pruning shears. Other materials will be provided. This class really will save you some fine plants.
Instruct Jean Fefer, Ph.D is a Harris County Master Gardener, an Urban Harvest Organic Vegetable Specialist and a Master Gardener Plant Propagation Specialist.
