Description: The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) will host the first in a series of Livable Centers planning workshops for Upper Kirby on January 13th.
Livable centers are compact, walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods with a high-quality environment. This kind of land use features excellent local mobility and enables reliance on fewer automobiles.
The study area – bounded by US 59, Greenbriar, Alabama, and Buffalo Speedway – will be home to three stations on the new Universities light rail line. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved early in the study, learn about the neighborhood, and voice your vision for this growing community.
