Brazoria County’s ‘Dune Day’

Title: Brazoria County’s ‘Dune Day’
Location: Quintana & Surfside
Description: Save your Christmas trees to help the Brazoria County Parks Department rebuild the sand dunes lost during Hurricane Ike on Dune Day. Volunteers will meet at Quintana and near Surfside at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, to position and stake the trees in place to catch windblown sand and rebuild the dune line. Volunteers should bring a hammer and gloves. The Parks Department will provide the stakes and twine.

Trees should be dropped off before January 23 at any precinct barn in Brazoria County, the Pearland Recycling Center, and several other locations in Harris, Fort Bend, and Montgomery counties. The Parks Department will also need volunteers to help load the trees at drop-off points.
