Flat Out Fun Day on the Katy Prairie

KPC will host a fun, family-friendly event and preserve tour on Saturday, November 14 on our Nelson Farms Preserve. We’ve partnered with other local organizations such as Houston Audubon Society, Houston Zoo, Texas Wildlife Association, and more to bring the wild westside to life just for you! Families can participate in hands-on activities that highlight some of the amazing things you can see on the Katy Prairie.  Use a dip net to capture aquatic insects in a pond, plant grass seedlings to help restore a patch of prairie, sweep for insects in grass taller than you are, learn to make a duck call, get up close and personal with huge farm equipment, learn how to identify and where to find some of the common prairie birds, take a hayride, and much more! http://katyprairie.org/assets/pdf/FOFD_FLYER_2009.pdf
