Lower Trinity Valley Bird Club: Fall Migration: Hawks and Storks

Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the meeting room of the First Liberty National Bank located at 1900 Sam Houston in Liberty. From Hwy. 90 turn on Travis Street, between Kentucky Fried Chicken and Whataburger, cross over the railroad tracks and take a right into the bank parking lot. Be sure to come early at 9:30 a.m. our “Birder’s Chat” time. If you have any questions call President Gary Holmes at 281-576-0574 or e-mail him at lisashepholmes@verizon.net. LTVBC members, Odell Casey, Ceal Stirling, Gary Holmes, and others, will discuss the annual migration of hawks and wood storks through our area. The group will have photos, videos, and eyewitness accounts of the exciting sighting on Sept 26- over 200 wood storks at Champion Lake and over 20,000 hawks at Smith Point!  Also, we will have spectacular photos of the migration taken from the hawk tower by Joseph Kennedy, a well-known local bird photographer. Guests and visitors are always welcome.
