Volunteer Day in West 11th Street Park: Butterfly/Native Bee Garden
Saturday, October 3, 9:00 a.m. In Spring 2008, a group of volunteers came to the park to help with the initial construction of a new butterfly/native bee garden on the southeast corner. Since then, Wally Ward and helpers have contributed hundreds of hours of time, Â devoted to hand-raising seedlings, transplanting, and watering. Now, after a year and a half, it is time for a little maintenance. On October 3, we have scheduled a work day at the park to do some weeding and trimming and sprucing up, and to add in some compost and seed. If you would like to come out to the park and lend a hand, we will be meeting on the southeast corner at 9:00. http://www.west11thstreetpark.org/
