Friends of Texas Wildlife is a group of trained and permitted volunteers who care for injured, displaced and orphaned wildlife in Montgomery and North Harris Counties. We are the only wildlife rescue group in Montgomery County with rehabbers permitted by U.S. Fish & Wildlife and Texas Parks & Wildlife Departments. We receive no funding from either agency. Our continued existence is dependent entirely on donations and memberships. Friends of Texas Wildlife is a completely volunteer organization and has no paid staff.

Many of the animals Friends of Texas Wildlife receives are malnourished, sick or morbidly injured requiring immediate veterinary care to survive. Rehabbers provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Rehabbers frequently pay for care and vet bills out of their own pockets. During 2006, seven rehabbers cared for more than 875 animals; in 2007, approximately 1000 animals were cared for.

Friends of Texas Wildlife offers educational and awareness programs.  If your organization would like to know more about native Texas Wildlife, what can be done to preserve and sustain their environment, and how you can assist and protect Texas wildlife send an email to: education@friendsoftexaswildlife.org
