EPA Water Quality Video Contest Winners.
The EPA announced the winners of the Water Quality Video Contest, which was meant to inspire environmental stewardship and educate the public on ways individuals can improve water quality in their community. Lucas Ridley of Trenton, Ga. was the overall winner in the 30 or 60 second category. His video “Protect Our Water – Check Cars for Oil Leaks” illustrated an easy step you can take to protect your watershed through motor vehicle care. Nora Kelley Parren of Hinesburg, Vt. was the winner in the 1-3 minute category. Her video “Dastardly Deeds and the Water Pollution Monster,” which was animated and made entirely out of discarded paper, illustrated how polluted runoff threatens ecosystems and offered tips people can take to protect water quality.
