Houston Arboretum & Nature Center Summer Programs

Announcing new “After Camp” summer classes!  Extend the day with enrichment classes from 3-5 p.m. New, after camp enrichment classes have just been finalized. Arboretum members have first priority in registering for these classes which immediately follow the Nature Trekkers Summer Camps. Extend your camper’s day from 3 to 5 p.m. with summer art classes taught by City ArtWorks or Creative Movement camps that include yoga, dance, music and games.  After camp classes are weeklong programs held at the Arboretum.

* June 8-12: City ArtWorks: “In the Garden”
* June 15-19: Creative Movement camp
* June 22-26: City ArtWorks – Art camp: “Déjà vu.. Everything Old is New Again!”
* June 29-July 3: Creative Movement camp
* July 6-10: City ArtWorks – Art camp: “Reptile-O-Rama”
* July 13-17: Creative Movement camp
* July 20-24: City ArtWorks – Art camp: “Nature’s Architecture”
* July 27-31: Creative Movement camp
* August 3-7: City ArtWorks – Art camp: “Animalia”
* August 10-14: Creative Movement camp

Summer Camps are filling up… Kids can stay in town this summer but still enjoy nature walks, insect collecting (and releasing!), camp crafts and more! Choose from morning only option (9 a.m. – noon) or all day classes (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.). 2009 Camp topics include:

* Winged Hunters: June 8-12 or July 13-17
* Lifelines: June 15-19 or July 20-24
* Outdoor Adventures: June 22-26 or July 27-31
* Bug Basics: June 29-July 3 or August 3-7
* Wild Science: July 6-10 or August 10-14
