Lester Brown is “the guru of the environmental movement†according to The Telegraph of Calcutta. He helped pioneer the concept of environmental sustainability and created the first research institute devoted to analyzing environmental issues on a global basis, Worldwatch Institute. In 2001, he founded Earth Policy Institute which is devoted to showing what sustainable economies look like and how to get there. He’s been honored with a MacArthur “genius†Fellowship, the United Nations Environmental Prize, 24 honorary degrees, and the Library of Congress has requested his papers. He’s published over 50 books which have been translated into over 40 languages. His latest book is Plan B 3.0: Mobilizing To Save Civilization. He’ll greet fans and sign books after the program.
