WR&E offers Oiled Wildlife Response Workshops

Wildlife Rehab & Education Center is hosting 2 one-day Oiled Wildlife Response Workshops sponsored by Texas General Land Office Oil Spill Prevention and Response Division on April 24 and again on April 25, 2009 at the WR&E Wildlife Center in Houston, TX. The year 2008 was challenging for the Wildlife Rehab & Education Center. After responding to oiled wildlife in July, 2008 during the Mississippi River spill in New Orleans, oiled wildlife resulting from Hurricane Gustav’s impact in September, 2008 and injured, orphaned and oiled wildlife resulting after Hurricane Ike, the Wildlife Rehab & Education Center received almost 7000 wild animals in 2008.
