LARGE VENUE RECYCLING WORKSHOP

On Tuesday, September 9, the Houston-Galveston Area Council is hosting a workshop about recycling waste from large events. These events generate a large amount of waste in a short period of time but, by reducing that waste, managers can decrease expenses and provide additional revenue. Special events are an ideal forum for promoting recycling and sending the positive message that it is possible to be good environmental stewards when away from home or work. There are many ways that event organizers can dramatically reduce the amount of waste that ends up as trash. Hear about what works and what doesn’t and learn how to manage volunteers and market your event with a variety of resources. The workshop will be from 9 am to 12 pm at H-GAC Conference Room A, 3555 Timmons Lane. Please RSVP to Gena McKinley at (713) 993-4529 or gena.mckinley@h-gac.com so the room can be set up for the number of attendees.
