RICE DESIGN ALLIANCE CIVIC FORUM IS WEDNESDAY

Rice Design Alliance will present ‘Good City, Good Citizen: Houston’ at 7 pm, Wednesday, June 11, in the Brown Auditorium, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, 1001 Bissonnet. The panelists will be: Andy Icken, Deputy Director, Public Works & Engineering Department, City of Houston; Susan Rogers, Visiting Assistant Professor, University of Houston College of Architecture; and Jeffery Taebel, Director of Community & Environmental Planning, Houston-Galveston Area Council. Discussion questions will include: are we developing an easy-to-use, publicly accessible urban database with information about air, water, soil, flooding, traffic, and transportation; are we establishing and monitoring urban design benchmarks; are we making the urban database visible and transparent; and have we accepted and institutionalized the role of the citizen expert?The lecture is free and open to the public.
